About
Welcome to Yoga for Academics! I'm Ivna, a dedicated yoga teacher and a researcher currently pursuing a PhD in biomedicine.
My yoga journey started during my undergraduate studies back in 2015. Since then, it has become an integral part of my life. Moving through six different countries, my yoga mat was always a safe, steady point where I could feel grounded, no matter where I was or what was going on around me.
For me, yoga is not only about physical activity, but also about authenticity and intention, showing up for yourself, and living in line with what matters most to you.
Motivated to deepen my knowledge, in 2021 I enrolled in the yoga teacher training (TT200) at the Spanda Institute, learning about the Spanda Yoga Method which is based on the latest understanding of functional movement, biomechanics, and physiology. Currently, I'm deeply immersed in LYT yoga practice and learning about physical therapy, stability, and mobility. The yogis who have greatly influenced my journey are Yoga With Adriene and my yoga teacher, Gea. Their unwavering commitment, knowledge, and authentic love for yoga are a constant source of inspiration.
Yoga has taught me to structure my days with intention, to show up authentically, and to navigate challenges with ease, grace and a centered mind. It has not only enhanced my productivity, but also fostered a deeper sense of self-awareness and resilience. I aim to share these transformative benefits of yoga with others in academia, advocating for a more harmonious and fulfilling approach to academic life.
Yoga for Academics is, therefore, a loving product of carefully tailored practices for academics. It is here to support you on your journey towards a strong, healthy, and balanced body and mind.
